    Breck extending

For those who want to ski later this season, Breckenridge will be opening Friday, Saturday and Sunday the last two weekends of April. Previously scheduled closure was April 15.

It'll probably be a little patchy by the end of the month, but it'll ok. It'll be Peak 8, top to bottom. It ought to be fun.

Not the "top", I'd guess. Just Vistahaus on down.

There's a pretty good base of man-made ice.

On the final two weekends, Peak 8 lifts and terrain — including Imperial Express SuperChair — will be the only mountain operations. On Friday, Saturday and Sunday, April 20-22 and April 27-29, guests can ski from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

OK. First nonofficial word I heard was lower Peak 8 only, but that'll be great if we get some snow. Nobody skiing Imperial Bowl now, Whale's Tail and the lower bowls all bumped up. At 10:50 today (Saturday), there's more folks on the T-Bar than on the Imperial chair. Most of the T-Bar riders are going to the right.

What's your best guess given the weather....bullet proof moguls or just large moguls ?

As you know so well, there is frequent wind. From the right direction, those bumps can fill in fast without much new snow falling, so I'd say guessing two weeks ahead won't give you any kind of reliable opinion. That's for Whale's tail through Art's Bowle. Today, what amounts to an inch or so of new snow yesterday has all but hidden most of the bumps on that terrain. I wouldn't expect much in the way of good skiing on Imperial Bowl unless we get some dumps. Horseshoe looks a lot more inviting today from my perspective across the valley, but there hasn't been much traffic on it this morning.

Monique just returned from skiing and said all the groomers were wonderful today. Yesterday the mostly wet snow from overnight had made them rather hard.
